Join the Arizona Director of The Humane Society of the United States and meet with other local animal protection advocates to discuss current issues affecting animals.
Meetings are held once a month in different areas of town. Each meeting will provide attendees with legislative updates, news on current events, and ways to take action for the animals. We usually have a presentation with lots of Q&A as well as time to get to know each other.
The Humane Society of the United States is the nation's largest animal protection organization - backed by over 10 million Americans, or one of every 30. Although not affiliated with any local humane societies, we do work with them on a regular basis.
For more than a half-century, The HSUS has been fighting for the protection of all animals through advocacy, education, and hands-on programs.
Our mission statement says it all: Celebrating animals, confronting cruelty.
ANIMAL LAW FOR LAYPEOPLE
Although this class will have a Tucson/Pima County focus, it will be a great introduction to laws in our state and I think it will be a valuable semiar for us all! (This event is not organized by The HSUS.)
I have been contacted by a couple of people who might be interested in car-pooling to the Meetup in Tucson this month. This notice will be posted on our message board. Read more
