NOTE: There will be two Meet-ups this month, back-to-back! On the 27th, we will be meeting in Laveen and on the 28th, we'll be in Mesa. Pick the location that is closest to you and come on down!


Join the Arizona State Director for The Humane Society of the United States and other animal advocates to discuss current issues affecting animals. This is a great opportunity to get news on current events, legislative updates, and learn about ways that you can take action for the animals.

Dr. Christina Risley-Curtiss, MSSW
Fellow, Oxford Centre for Animal Ethics
Associate Professor & Co-Director, Child Welfare Training Project at Arizona State University

Dr. Risley-Curtiss is a nationally known expert on the connection between animal abuse and human violence. She will be discussing this connection and what each of us can do to help break the cycle of abuse.

    Laveen now is a growing, community, that used to be strictly farms, acerage and horse properties. Lots of livestock here...but it is changing with all the development. The Cesar Chavez library is a nice new building...should be a good meeting place for all. See you there.

    Eager to learn what we can be doing NOW. Plus maybe discuss the shocking news about PETA. PLUS, I've never even HEARD of Laveen before (transplant that I am) -- so, that discovery will be neat, too. . . Thank you, Kari!
